We are looking to hire a Grants Writer who will be responsible for researching, writing and coordinating the grant application process; management of proposals and maintaining a donor database.
Sourcing Funding Opportunities
Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants and government sources.
Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.
Initiate ongoing communication with key internal stakeholders to analyze funding needs, gaps and opportunities.
Provide stewardship to current donors, including work with Partnerships Manager to provide regular written updates (newsletters etc) to corporate and foundation donors.
Provide support to the leadership team and key staff for meetings with donors.
Ensure compliance regarding the identification, management and mitigation of risks and opportunities.
Assist with other fundraising projects as requested.
Develop an annual grants strategy.
Coordinate and follow-up on the progress of submitted proposals
Lead proposal generation process and response to RFPs, Pre-Qualification, Bidding and formal presentations.
Coordinate with key staff to produce and submit compelling high-quality proposals that can obtain significant support for local and international programs.
Work with the Partnerships Team to manage an efficient and accurate database and communication framework.
Serve as technical writer for our Nigerian and International Programs by integrating logic models, monitoring and evaluation data, and qualitative information into all proposals.
Develop materials showing progress of programs for donor updates and ongoing communications.
Comply with all grant reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors.
A minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in research and grant writing; nonprofit experience a plus
Knowledge of fundraising information sources.
Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors.
Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies. Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.

Motivated self starter with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy in a fast-paced environment
High proficiency in all areas of Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
First degree or equivalent
